An Outstanding Performance

Over the past five years Perryfields has made excellent progress culminating in its best ever GCSE and SAT’s performance. This year’s GCSE results include 58% A* - C (including English and Maths) the Government’s Gold Standard Measure and 75% 5 A* - C, a 14% increase on 2008. These performances are a reflection of the hard work produced by pupils, parents, staff and governors to achieve the highest standards. Year 9 have added to these successes by achieving the highest SAT’s grades ever for Perryfields which is also a record for Sandwell schools.

Perryfields has in recent years developed a reputation for academic excellence with a strong pastoral support programme. This excellence was recently recognised in its recent Ofsted report (February 2009) when it was described as a ‘Good school with many outstanding features’.

Since becoming a Specialist Maths and Computing College in 2006, Perryfields has concentrated on ensuring high quality teaching and learning with a key focus on core subject areas. Our new £4 million teaching block and significant investment in new technologies has further improved the quality of education. This will now be followed in September 2010 when Perryfields begins its £18 million rebuild programme.

We are extremely pleased to be opening our new Sixth form in September 2009 following our great success with SAT’s and GCSE’s and pupils will be studying a range of ‘A’ level courses. Perryfields remains a highly popular, oversubscribed school offering high quality education and increased expectations which have been developed over the past five years. There will be an Open Evening on Thursday 24th September (7.00 pm – 9.30 pm) for any prospective pupils/parents.
